That's how author Phillip M. Hoose in Hoosiers, the Fabulous Basketball Life of Indiana, [Vintage Books, 1986, p. 235] described the basketball court at the Legend. This court holds a special place in basketball history as a location used in national television commercials and a scene in the 1994 movie "Blue Chips".

Tennis Anyone? If tennis is your game, the Legend is for you! The full-sized tennis court, lighted for nighttime play, is surrounded by a high fence, so you don’t have to waste time chasing those balls that bounce away. Serve and volley on this court before you head for the pool.

Pool. Splashdown in the large and deep kidney-shaped pool and enjoy the custom-designed patio area which will be one of your favorite spots at the Legend.

Grounds. Our twelve-acre property is fenced and gated. The well-maintained grounds feature mature trees and open lawn areas which welcome leisure walkers and are perfect for bird-watching, painting, photography or just enjoying the tranquil vistas of the trees, valleys and rolling hills beyond. Forget the stress and congestion of urban life as you enjoy the peace and quiet at Legend of French Lick Inn & Resort.

Bus Garage and Outdoor Receptions. Beyond the home and its outdoor facilities the Legend also has a large (110’ x 65’) garage/office building with five 12-foot automatic doors and a wide, paved parking area. This area is available separately for catered receptions and other outdoor events, or for secure parking of large vehicles such as tour buses or recreational vehicles.
